Meg has worked in Gerontology since she was a senior in High School. Through her college years, she worked in a nursing home kitchen. Meg has a degree in Urban Studies and a Certificate in Gerontology. After working 15 years in long-term care, Meg began her work in Assisted Living in 1999. She became the Executive Director of Notre Dame Du Lac in 2004.
Married for 28 years to her husband Steve, Meg lives in Worcester. They have one son, Michael.
Meg enjoys reading, gardening, and shoe shopping. She also likes to dance for fun and exercise!
Cathy has a Masters degree in Social Work and has worked as a clinical social worker in the field of geriatrics for 23 years. She has worked in a variety of facilities from rehabilitation to nursing homes, hospitals and assisted living. Cathy was a part of the start-up team for Notre Dame du Lac and has remained with us ever since! She holds the distinction of her first office at du Lac being in a trailer!
Cathy lives in Shrewsbury with her husband Frank. As a college student, her stepson Graham worked summers at du Lac in the kitchen.
We know Cathy affectionately as Mrs. Golf! Cathy loves travel, being in nature and yoga. Cathy
is also passionate about sports, politics and holistic health.
Martha lives in Holden with her husband and dog Lexie. She has four sons with the youngest two being twins. She has extensive experience as a nurse in various healthcare settings including assisted living and home health care. Martha also has an entrepreneurial spirit opening an ice cream shop in southern Maine a few years ago.
In addition to caring for residents and scooping ice cream, Martha loves exercise, interior design and walking her dog.
Debra Aikey is a "Jill of many trades" having worked as a Certified Home Health Aide, a sales person of bait and fishing tackle, a waitress, secretary to a CEO, and a bartender. She brings this variety along with her great smile to each of us as we pass the reception area each day.
Deb has been married for 21 years and lives in Brimfield. She has a daughter 21, a son 17, one sister, two brothers and a cat.
Deb loves country music, playing the drums, and going to concerts. She spends her free time
riding motorcycles, reading, and volunteering at a local animal shelter. She loves walking the
beach, dancing and drum competitions.
Ellen Micol has a Bachelor of Science degree in Visual and Performing Arts/Creative Arts in Human services and a Masters in Dance/Movement Therapy. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a registered Dance Therapist. Ellen has worked in the area of activities and the elderly since 1989.
Ellen lives in Worcester with her husband Larry and her four cats. She receives joy from many
things including animals, children, crafts, gardening, knitting, photography and dancing.
Debbie has worked at total of 18 years in geriatric care as a Certified Nursing Assistant, Activity Director and most recently as Program Director in our specialized care Harmony Unit.
Debbie lives in Shrewsbury. She has been married to husband Scott for 27 years and has three children, Danielle, Kayla and Brett. She has a grandson Tristan.
Debbie enjoys gardening, numerology and family!
Before coming to Notre Dame du Lac in July of 2000, Sophie worked as a senior housing property manager, home care case manager, and nursing home social worker.
Sophie and her husband Philip have lived in Sterling for the past 29 years. They share their
home with cat, Tucker. Sophie enjoys reading, taking long walks, and getting together with friends.
Sr. Julie's professional experience includes many and diverse roles including teacher, school principal, personnel director and a marriage and family therapist. Sr. Julie has worked at Notre Dame du Lac since its doors first opened!
Sr. Julie's family is her religious community - the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, Boston province.
She also enjoys her many nieces and nephews. Sr. Julie loves to travel, read, visit friends, listen to music and crochet.
Pam possesses a Masters Degree in Theology and is a graduate of One Spirit Seminary. She taught for over 30 years at the secondary and college levels and worked in parish ministry. Once upon a time was even the Easter Bunny at the Natick Mall.
Pam has always enjoyed the single life. Her family is very large extending to friends and loved ones from around the world. She lives with her close friend, Pauline, who is like a sister. They have lived together for 36 years in Worcester.
Pam loves to travel, read, learn, study, write poetry, take pictures and walk in the woods. She is
passionate about many justice issues. Pam travels frequently to Haiti where she began a program for
girls, called Vin You Famn (to be a woman)
Mark has been cooking since he was 12 years old. He has held numerous positions in the restaurant
business including Sheraton Hotels, Dunphy Hotels and Tara Hotels. He worked for many years on
Nantucket at Chanticleer where he baked bread for Prince Rainer and Princess Grace. He has extensive
experience in long-term care and assisted living working for Sunrise, Alterra and Benchmark communities.
Mark is a graduate of University of Massachusetts Hotel and Restaurant Department.
Mark lives in Worcester. He has one daughter. He enjoys sailing, kayaking, skiing, hiking and tending to
his garden. He likes to play the piano, harmonica, guitar and sing. He keeps three beehives at home!
Teri fulfilled a life-long dream going to nursing school when her children were grown. She worked in acute care, long-term care, as an MDS coordinator, and a staff developer. More recently, she worked 6 years as Resident Care Director at Notre Dame du Lac before reducing her hours and transferring to Staff Development.
Teri is married and has three children, five stepchildren and ten grandchildren. She enjoys her
children, cooking and quilting.
Abe Mountain is Notre Dame's very experienced Maintenance Director. Before coming to du Lac, he worked for several years as a Facility Service Associate at Sears of Auburn. He has held positions as a plant worker, forklift operator, Specialty Coatings Kiln Operator and Lead hand.
He lives in Webster with his wife and two daughters, two dogs and a cat. Abe's hobbies and interests include home improvement, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.
